Known for his profound academic contributions and extensive research in sociology and urbanisation, Prof. Özer will be meeting Didim’s readers and signing his thought-provoking works. Meet a Leading Mind in Sociology and Urban Studies

Born in Van in 1960, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özer is a distinguished academic whose journey began with a first-place graduation from Hacettepe University’s Philosophy Department. He pursued his master’s degrees in Sociology at Hacettepe and in Science and Political Philosophy at METU, completing his doctorate back at Hacettepe. Having served as a faculty member for many years, Prof. Özer has authored numerous books and articles on sociology, urbanisation, local governance, migration, and democracy. His research on Turkey’s social structure, regional development, and local administrations has earned him a prominent place in academia, complemented by his prolific writing career.
