Who Will Lead Kıyıkışlacık Iasos Sports Club Across the Bay?

Following a period of uncertainty and a postponed general assembly, our coastal neighbors across the bay at Kıyıkışlacık Iasos Sports Club have settled their leadership future, as prominent businessman Halil İbrahim Yılmaz secures a renewed vote of confidence to continue as president.

Over here in Akbük, we always keep a keen eye on our neighbors across the water. Kıyıkışlacık, famous for its stunning ancient ruins of Iasos, is also home to a passionate amateur football scene. The Kıyıkışlacık Sports Club Association recently cleared a major hurdle. After failing to reach a majority on July 5th, the extraordinary general assembly was successfully held on Sunday, July 12th, at the Kıyıkışlacık Primary School, bringing an end to weeks of speculation.

A Surprising U-Turn in Local Football Leadership

Halil İbrahim Yılmaz, who initially took the helm of the club in January 2025, had recently announced his intention to step down. This sudden decision to stay on and run as the sole candidate has raised some eyebrows in local sports circles, but his unanimous backing by the club members shows a deep-seated trust. Whether this represents a lack of alternative candidates or a genuine mandate for continuity, it brings much-needed stability to the Muğla amateur football league.

The New Board Aligning for Future Success

The newly formed board of directors aims to strengthen both the athletic performance and corporate structure of the club. The new lineup includes Halil İbrahim Yılmaz as President, alongside board members Orçun Oğul, Süleyman Ergül, Onur Tunca, Mustafa Ali Tunca, Halil Emrem Durmaz, Alper Bekler, Ali Boncuk, Ali İhsan Bulut, and Mehmet Can Bozan. As expats and locals living around the beautiful gulf, keeping amateur sports clean, transparent, and thriving is something we can all champion.
