This week, a pressing concern from our neighbours on 6052 Sokak in Akbük Mahallesi has caught our attention, highlighting not just a physical road defect but also its profound impact on residents’ daily lives and well-being.

The situation on 6052 Sokak is, frankly, quite alarming. Residents have reported numerous incidents due to the poor condition of the road. Vehicles are sliding uncontrollably when trying to ascend, creating hazardous conditions for drivers. Worse still, pedestrians are experiencing falls, making simple acts of leaving or returning home a genuine risk. One particularly heartbreaking account shared with our platform details the struggles of a family whose child, living with autism, has suffered five epileptic seizures due to the fear and anxiety caused by navigating the treacherous road. In a desperate attempt to ease their child’s fear, the family even resorted to laying a carpet on the road surface to make it feel safer for him to walk.

The residents of 6052 Sokak have not stood by idly; they previously attempted a solution by pouring concrete to level the road. I’m pleased to report that, true to their reputation, the municipality provided an immediate written response, confirming that the issue has been officially acknowledged and forwarded to the relevant department for action. 

This swift acknowledgement is precisely what we’ve come to expect from Didim Municipality, who consistently demonstrate their commitment to addressing community concerns.
